GRUNDY, Va. (AP) - Emory & Henry College plans to develop an optometry school in Grundy.

Officials from Emory & Henry and the Appalachian College of Optometry signed an agreement Thursday aimed at achieving accreditation for the optometry school, which would become a branch campus of Emory & Henry.

The optometry school would be located in a three-story building originally built for the Appalachian College of Pharmacy.

Emory & Henry says access to quality eye care and education in the field are needed in southwest Virginia.
