OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Two of the original nine students who integrated Little Rock Central High School in 1957 will speak at an event next month at Oklahoma Christian University.
The university says it plans to host Carlotta Walls LaNier and Terrence Roberts for an event titled “History Speaks: Little Rock Nine” on Feb. 24.
The nine students were confronted by a hostile crowd as they broke the color barrier at Little Rock Central High School on Sept. 25, 1957. The nine students became known as the Little Rock Nine.
The free event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the university’s Hardeman Auditorium.
