OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a Norfolk woman who alleged mistreatment by Norfolk police officers after she was taken into protective custody.

The Norfolk Daily News (https://bit.ly/1hQvKiL ) reports that Judge Joseph Bataillon (buh-TAL’-yuhn) last week dismissed the lawsuit brought by Lori Colvey, who alleged her rights were violated by three male officers.

The officers said they’d taken Colvey to a hospital in January 2011 because of her erratic behavior. She says they violated her rights by holding her down and helping hospital workers remove her clothing for a medical procedure.

In dismissing the lawsuit, Bataillon said the officers followed the statute for protective custody and police and hospital rules. The judge says the officers “acted in a reasonable way to assure the safety of all.”
