RACINE, Wis. (AP) - Former Racine Mayor Gary Becker has been released from custody on an alleged probation violation.

The 56-year-old Becker was arrested Jan. 17 for what corrections officials say were “treatment violations.” Becker served as mayor of Racine from 2003 to 2009 until he went to a mall to meet a 14-year-old girl in an online sex sting. He was met by an undercover agent and arrested.

The former mayor served a three-year sentence for second-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement. Becker is serving five years of extended supervision and cannot have contact with minors.

The Journal Times (https://bit.ly/1fiYLTX ) reports Becker was released from the Sturtevant Transitional Facility Tuesday. Becker declined comment on his latest incarceration when reached at home Thursday.
