NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) - American Red Cross officials say 32 people have been displaced in an apartment fire in western Georgia.

Disaster Program Manager Jessica McFadden told WXIA-TV (https://on.11alive.com/1frphv0 ) nine apartments at the Jefferson Pointe complex in Newnan were destroyed in a blaze Thursday morning.

The Red Cross provided those who have been displaced with temporary financial assistance, food, clothing and hotel accommodations.



Details on what caused the fire and whether any injuries were reported was not immediately available.
