ATLANTA (AP) - Leaders of Atlanta’s public transportation system say trains are running on a modified schedule and bus service has been suspended.
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority spokesman, Lyle Harris, says the agency suspended bus and paratransit service because of unsafe road conditions in the metro Atlanta region Wednesday.
A storm that crossed the region Tuesday left many drivers stranded on local roads overnight and into Wednesday afternoon.
Harris says the agency is working to increase the frequency of train service as soon as possible. Trains have been running since 5:30 a.m., but Harris says passengers should still plan for delays.
Harris says MARTA’s customer service call center and reduced fare offices are closed because of bad weather. Harris encourages customers to check for service updates online.
