SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - A hearing has been postponed for a Spartanburg County man accused of killing an 8 year old girl more than four years ago.

The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported (https://bit.ly/1cuajnr) that 55-year-old Ricky Lee Blackwell Sr. of Chesnee has been hospitalized.

A hearing had been scheduled Tuesday to determine whether Blackwell has the mental capacity to receive a death sentence.



Blackwell is charged with kidnapping and killing Heather Brooke Center in 2009. His trial is scheduled in March.

The hearing has not yet been rescheduled.
