PROVO, Utah (AP) - A judge ordered a competency assessment for the Utah doctor convicted of killing his wife as he faces charges of sexual abuse in a separate case.

Fourth District Judge Samuel McVey said Tuesday he will order assessments from two mental health experts before Martin MacNeill returns to court March 3.

The exams will delay a Feb. 4 trial for MacNeill on charges of forcible sex abuse and witness tampering - prosecutors say MacNeill tried to get the woman to recant her allegations.

Utah County jail officials say MacNeill tried to kill himself Dec. 5 with the blade of a disposable razor.
