BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - William Nelson of LSU-Shreveport and LSU’s Theresa Plaisance have been named men’s and women’s basketball players of the week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

The awards are the second this year for each player. Nelson is a repeat winner, picking up his first award last week, while Plaisance was previously honored on Dec. 16.

Nelson received the honor after averaging 35.3 points and 11.3 rebounds, including scoring outbursts of 50 and 32 points, as the Pilots went 3-0 last week.

Plaisance averaged a double-double with 21.0 points and 10.5 rebounds as LSU dispatched SEC foes Auburn and Ole Miss.
