FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) - Most school buses in Forest Grove will be running on liquid propane within six years.

The school board decided Monday to lease 36 propane-fueled buses, which will be purchased over time.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1fjWN6e) as part of the deal the district extended its contract with the Mid-Columbia Bus company to 2020.

The district expects the move will save $408,000 in fuel costs over 10 years and improve air quality.
