FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Metro-North Railroad says an employee has been arrested on a charge of public indecency following a complaint from a passenger on a train from New York City to Connecticut.

Manny Ramos, an engineer trainee, was arrested by Metro-North police on Tuesday morning after a female passenger said he was masturbating.

Metro-North spokeswoman Meredith Daniels said the 34-year-old Ramos of Brooklyn, N.Y., fled the train when it stopped at Fairfield. She says he was apprehended on a nearby street and identified by the passenger.

It was not immediately known if he is represented by a lawyer. Bridgeport Superior Court says he was taken into custody by Fairfield police, who did not immediately return a call seeking information.

Ramos was suspended without pay.

Daniels said the woman was alone and was resting or possibly asleep.
