WETUMPKA, Ala. (AP) - State troopers say two people were killed and five injured in a crash in Elmore County that was likely weather-related.

State Trooper Sgt. Steve Jarrett says the seven-vehicle crash occurred a few minutes before 8 a.m. Tuesday on Alabama 14 near the Canal Bridge. He said it is still under investigation, but the preliminary investigation indicates that ice was likely a factor. Some roads in the Montgomery area already had ice during the morning commute to work.

Jarrett said one of the five injuries was critical.
