LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock’s city manager says city workers are reaching out to the homeless or anyone else who needs to find a shelter during freezing weather.
City Manager Bruce Moore said “outreach vans” will travel the city’s streets looking for people who need a ride to a shelter.
Temperatures were expected to dip into the single digits in parts of Arkansas Monday night and Tuesday morning. Moore says the city wants to ensure that everyone can stay warm during the cold snap.
A statement from the city says the Union Rescue Mission and the Compassion Center have said they had dozens of beds available Monday evening and that they will remain open while temperatures are below freezing.
