LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) - A fraternity at Washington and Lee University has been suspended for three years following a fatal accident in December involving one of its members.
The national headquarters of Sigma Alpha Epsilon announced the recent suspension of the Washington and Lee chapter.
The Roanoke Times (https://bit.ly/1itKzLy) reports an SUV carrying 11 Washington and Lee students flipped on Dec. 3, killing a 21-year-old woman and injuring several other students.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon says the driver was a member of the fraternity. State Police charged 21-year-old Nicholas Perry Hansel with driving under the influence.
