CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Students throughout West Virginia are getting another day off from school after a winter storm dumped heavy snow and brought bone-chilling temperatures.
The National Weather Service says readings were expected to bottom out around zero in much of the state early Wednesday. Snow totals were expected to reach nearly a foot in some places.
At least 30 counties have called off school on Wednesday.
Icy road conditions were blamed for numerous accidents Tuesday, when schools were closed in all 55 counties and several colleges were forced to cancel evening classes.
