FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) - A Washington County, Ore., sheriff’s spokesman says a top official at Pacific University has turned himself in to deputies after he was indicted by a county grand jury on sex abuse charges.
The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/C4KcXn) that Sgt. Vance Stimler says 48-year-old Michael David Mallery was booked into jail Tuesday on seven counts of first-degree sex abuse.
Stimler says Mallery is accused of sexually abusing two relatives under the age of 18 in 2010 and 2013.
Mallery is the Forest Grove school’s vice president for finance and administration.
University spokesman Joe Lang said Tuesday he was not aware of Mallery’s arrest and did not immediately have an update on his status with the school. It was not immediately known whether Mallery was represented by a lawyer.
Forest Grove is west of Portland.
