LIBERTY, N.Y. (AP) - A former officer for the Free and Accepted Masons in Sullivan County is facing embezzlement charges.
State police say 44-year-old John Wells of Milford, Pa. was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing more than $50,000 over several years from the organization’s lodges.
Wells, who was named district deputy grand master of the Sullivan Masonic District in 2008, was arraigned in Village of Liberty Court and released after posting $15,000 bond.
