MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The husband of late Vermont state Sen. Sally Fox is interested in serving out the rest of her term.
Michael Sirotkin notified the Chittenden County Democratic Committee chairman Tuesday night, prompting two other contestants to withdraw.
Fox died Jan. 10 at age 62. She had served in both the House and Senate and was known for helping the most vulnerable.
Sirotkin says his wife had expressed an interest months ago in him being appointed to her seat.
Sirotkin is a lawyer and lobbyist.
