ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland is closing all state offices and facilities as a snowstorm begins to dump snow on the region.

State officials announced Tuesday that offices would close at 11 a.m. Emergency essential employees are expected report as scheduled.

The National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 11 inches of snow in parts of western Maryland, 4 to 8 inches of snow in the Washington suburbs and less snow on the Eastern Shore.
