Sheriff: Man shot dead at bar in Harvey

HARVEY, La. (AP) - Jefferson Parish authorities say a man is dead after being shot in the head outside a bar in Harvey.

Sheriff Newell Normand says in a news release that the man was shot Saturday about 2:40 a.m. at The Edge Sports Bar in Harvey.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Bowie Richard of Gretna.

Normand says that witnesses reported that the victim exchanged words with a man inside the bar just before the shooting.

According to witnesses, the victim left the bar and was talking to someone sitting inside of a car parked when he was shot in the head.
