BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A 52-year-old Burlington man has died after falling about 25 feet from the roof of an apartment building.

The Burlington Hawk Eye reports (https://bit.ly/1h13z0c) that Jay Ehret died at a local hospital after the fall on Thursday morning.

Investigators say Ehret was working on the roof and reaching for a nail gun when he slipped and fell.



Burlington Fire Chief Matt Trexel says emergency responders received a call reporting the fall around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. When rescue workers arrived, Ehret was unresponsive. He was taken to Great River Medical Center, where he died.
