AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The operator of the electricity transmission grid for most of Texas says they’ve returned to normal operations following a sudden power plant outage.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, said Saturday that the system “recovered quickly and remained reliable as reserves were deployed.”
They said normal operations resumed after additional generation came on-line.
Dan Woodfin, director of system operations for ERCOT, said in a statement, “We always keep reserve power available when possible for situations like this.”
ERCOT manages the flow of electric power to 23 million Texas customers- representing 85 percent of the state’s electric load.
