SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Police in Illinois have arrested the man wanted in connection with the attack on an 86-year-old woman who was found bruised and injured inside her Southaven home on Dec. 30.
The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/19yQsDW ) 23-year-old Kwame Becton was arrested by the Forrest Park Police Department on Thursday. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Cook County Jail. He will be extradited to Southaven.
Police said Becton has three warrants issued against him for attacking Georgie McKee and then stealing her 2003 Chevrolet Impala.
Police say Becton, who lived in the same subdivision as the victim, fled to Chicago in her car.
The car was spotted in Illinois earlier this week and has been returned to Southaven.
It was unclear whether Becton has an attorney.
