MILTON, W.Va. (AP) - Grocery chain SuperValu plans to close its food distribution center outside Milton in April.

SuperValu spokesman Luke Friedrich tells media outlets that the facility will be consolidated with the company’s Stanton/Pittsburgh distribution center in Pennsylvania.

About 90 workers are employed at the Milton center.

SuperValu says in a statement that the center is being closed to maximize efficiency in its distribution department.

Friedrich says the company’s distribution business is separate from its grocery operations.
