NEW YORK (AP) - Transit officials say subway service has been restored following a water main break near Union Square.

The main broke around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, flooding Fifth Avenue between 13th and 14th streets.

The water main break caused major disruptions on the B, D, F, E, M and Q subway lines.

In addition, the M2 and M5 buses were re-routed from Fifth Avenue to Broadway.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says normal service was restored by late morning, with residual delays.
