GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A 50-year-old Brockton man faces a second-degree murder charge for the weekend stabbing death of a 21-year-old man.
The Great Falls Tribune reports (https://gftrib.com/1alJFM1 ) David Lewis was arrested after the body of 21-year-old Armon Boyd was found at a residence in Brockton on Saturday morning. Officials say his family had reported him missing on Friday night.
He made an initial appearance in federal court in Great Falls on Tuesday. U.S. Magistrate Keith Strong declined to unseal an affidavit with details about the case, agreeing with defense attorney Anthony Gallagher’s argument that doing so would make it difficult to seat an unbiased jury if the case goes to trial.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Weldon argued the affidavit should be unsealed because it is a public document.
Lewis is jailed in Great Falls.
