MYTON, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a 54-year-old truck driver from Fairview is dead after a crash with another semitrailer in Duchesne County.
Utah Highway Patrol officials say Cody Smith was airlifted to the hospital after the collision about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on State Route 40. He died shortly after.
Troopers say a semitrailer was pulling an empty trailer on a slick road in windy conditions when it veered into oncoming lanes.
Authorities say Smith’s truck, which was pulling a trailer full of liquid, hit the side of the empty trailer.
Troopers say they’re investigating why the truck crossed over the median. Highway patrol Lt. Jeff Chugg tells KSL ice and wind may have shifted the trailer.
