SEDALIA, Colo. (AP) - A highway in Douglas County is still closed after a train derailed, sending a pair of wheels and their axle across a road and narrowly missing a gas pump.
Seventeen cars went off the tracks Thursday in Sedalia southwest of Denver, but Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Teller says no one was hurt and the cars were empty. All the cars remained upright.
According to KUSA-TV (https://tinyurl.com/ml5fxwd ), the BNSF train was heading north from Amarillo, Texas, to Denver.
The cause of the derailment has not been determined.
