BOISE, Idaho (AP) - The Idaho Department of Correction is investigating the apparent suicide of an inmate at the South Boise Women’s Correctional Center.

A correctional officer found 53-year-old Darcie Olsen of Sun Valley unconscious in her cell at 12:07 a.m. Thursday. Staff began resuscitation measures, which were continued by paramedics. Olsen was pronounced dead at 12:57 a.m.

Olsen’s criminal record includes two felony convictions for driving under the influence in Blaine County, the most recent for a crash in August 2012. She was eligible to be considered for parole in June, while her full-term release date was June 2019.

The IDOC asked the Ada County sheriff’s office to assist with the investigation into Olsen’s death.
