OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Classes are canceled at many Oklahoma schools because of subzero wind chill values Wednesday.
A wind chill advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service says another wind chill advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday.
Forecasters say wind chill values of minus 5 degrees to 10 degrees below zero will continue through late Wednesday morning. Temperatures will rise slightly throughout the day Wednesday but will plunge again overnight, with wind chill values of up to minus 15 degrees possible.
Many schools canceled classes Wednesday because of the cold temperatures, including Oklahoma City Public Schools.
