FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - Fairbanks authorities have released the name of one of two people killed in a fire that destroyed an apartment complex.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (https://is.gd/JFuShc) says 50-year-old Jane Connolly was a resident in the 18-unit apartment building that burned on Geraghty Street last Wednesday.

Police Lt. Jim Geier says authorities believe they know the identity of the second victim, another woman believed to have lived in the complex, but they’re waiting for positive identification before releasing information.

The bodies of the two women were found as investigators sifted through the rubble of the two-story building.

A 17-year-old boy was severely burned and flown to a Seattle burn hospital. Several others were treated at a Fairbanks hospital for smoke inhalation and cold-related injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
