WAYNESBORO, Va. (AP) - Virginia state police say a vehicle has been recovered belonging to a missing man who is a captain with the Waynesboro Police Department’s Police Reserve Unit.

State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says a homeowner found the 1999 sport-utility vehicle in Mineral on Monday, two days after Kevin Wayne Quick was reported missing.

Geller says state police are examining the vehicle for possible evidence.

The 45-year-old Quick left his mother’s residence in Afton on Friday. He was going to a friend’s home about 20 miles away in Albemarle County but he didn’t arrive.

Several local businesses are offering $8,000 for information that leads to Quick’s discovery.
