Rep. Cory Gardner is down with some Rocky Mountain oysters.
Mr. Gardner and other members of the Colorado congressional delegation woke up Monday morning on the losing end of a Super Bowl bet with some of their Washington counterparts.
The Republican lawmaker had wagered the “oysters” — also known as bull calf testicles — as part of a friendly bet with Washington lawmakers before Super Bowl XLVIII where the Seattle Seahawks smoked the Denver Broncos by a score of 43-8.
Rep. Diana DeGette, a Democrat, bet Stranahan’s Whiskey and Tamales, Rep. Jared Polis, a Democrat, bet Celestial Seasonings Tea, and Rep. Scott Tipton, a Republican, bet Enstrom Toffee.
GOP Rep. Doug Lamborn, meanwhile, waged “2 locally sourced, hormone and antibiotic-free Callicrate Beef sirloin steaks from Ranch Foods Direct,” while Reps. Mike Coffman, a Republican, and Ed Perlmutter, a Democrat, each put up a six-pack of beer.
