SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities say a 56-year-old man died this weekend when he became entrapped in a conveyor belt at a mine in southern Utah.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that emergency responders were sent to the CML Metals mine Saturday evening outside of Cedar City. They tried to save Mark Rowley’s life, but he died at the scene.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident. The Iron County Sheriff’s Office is calling it an “industrial accident.”

Rowley lived in Cedar City.
