LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Another round of wintry weather is headed to Arkansas after snow fell in the northern parts of the state Sunday.

The National Weather Service says freezing rain, sleet and snow are expected early Tuesday. Forecasters say temperatures will rise above freezing by midday Tuesday in central Arkansas, and the precipitation will switch over to mainly rain.

Light ice accumulation is expected in central and west-central Arkansas. Northern Arkansas will likely see a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

Snow fell Sunday in many areas, with up to 5 inches reported in counties near the Missouri border.

Many roads and highways north of Little Rock were icy or snow-covered Monday. Arkansas State University canceled classes Monday, while the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville had a late start.
