YELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say an 89-year-old man was killed after a head-on collision on a snow-covered road in north Arkansas.

Arkansas State Police say the fatal crash happened Sunday afternoon on the Buffalo River bridge in Marion County. According to a preliminary report, Thomas Seay of Harriet died in the collision.

State police say the road was covered in snow at the time of the crash.

Wintry weather has made roads in parts of northern Arkansas treacherous. The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says roads in northern and northwest Arkansas are snow-covered, while roads in northeast Arkansas are icy.

More wintry precipitation is expected Monday night and early Tuesday.
