ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A judge has granted a request to delay the trial of a woman accused along with her husband of killing a Vermont teacher in 2012 so that she can undergo a psychological evaluation.

Patricia and Allen Prue of Waterford are charged with murder in the killing of 33-year-old Melissa Jenkins of St. Johnsbury. Both have pleaded not guilty.

The Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/1mJ52ik) reports that a judge on Wednesday granted a request by Patricia Prue’s lawyer for more time, until April 30, the day before the trial was scheduled to start, to decide if he will have a psychologist testify.

Caledonia County State’s Attorney Lisa Warren says the court’s order is likely to delay the case for weeks or a few months.
