HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett’s office says his hernia surgery went well and he’s resumed his role and powers as governor.

Press secretary Jay Pagni said Thursday morning that Corbett was out of Allegheny General Hospital and on his way home to Shaler to recuperate. He says Corbett is “in great spirits.”

Pagni says Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley was in charge of the state from 7:10 a.m. to 8:35 a.m., while Corbett was under general anesthesia.
