NEW YORK (AP) - A minor leaguer in the San Francisco Giants’ organization has been given a 50-game drug ban after testing positive for an amphetamine.

Second baseman Ryan Jones was penalized Thursday by the commissioner’s office.

The 23-year-old Jones is on the roster of Class A Augusta in the South Atlantic League. He hit .336 last season in 42 games in the Class A Northwest League.
