TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police have identified a bank robbery suspect fatally shot by officers over the weekend.
Police say 44-year-old Armando Alvarez was shot while holding a black automotive tool in his right hand behind his back and had made furtive movements and disregarded the officers’ commands to surrender.
Police say Alvarez was found hiding in a shed behind a home after the armed robbery of a bank on Saturday.
According to police, Alvarez apparently robbed another bank earlier the same day. Also, they say a pellet gun that looked like a real gun was found in a backpack in the shed.
No officers were injured.
