HONOLULU (AP) - Newly unsealed transcripts from a Honolulu murder trial reveal the jury foreman was concerned about a juror’s interaction with someone in the courtroom.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (https://ow.ly/u0edb ) reported Tuesday the closed proceeding dealt with the foreman’s concern about seeing another juror shaking hands with someone who sat in the courtroom gallery with one of the families involved.

Jurors weren’t able to agree on a verdict in the case against State Department Special Agent Christopher Deedy, accused of murder in a shooting at a Waikiki McDonald’s.

The newspaper and Hawaii News Now requested that transcripts of the closed sessions be made public. Ahn released the transcripts earlier this week. The redacted transcript says the juror said he used to work with the person and it didn’t affect his judgment.
