JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A Kodiak lawmaker has requested an audit on the handling of repairs on the ferry Tustumena.

Rep. Alan Austerman, in his request, says the project began in October 2012, completion was delayed and the ferry did not return to service for more than a year. He says as a result, ferry service to and from many communities was disrupted.

The Legislative Budget and Audit Committee is scheduled to take up the request Tuesday evening.
