CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - University of Central Arkansas trustees have approved an immediate ban on the use of electronic cigarettes on campus.
The board on Friday added to its 2009 ban on all tobacco products at the school in Conway.
The Log Cabin Democrat reports (https://is.gd/IUSchP ) the policy change was recommended by a committee that formed last fall under student health clinic Medical Director Dr. Randy Pastor.
Pastor said in the committee’s letter to UCA President Tom Courtway that there is a “large concern by the medical community” about the unknown immediate effects on humans of direct or secondhand nicotine vapors.
Trustees passed the measure unanimously and without discussion.
