PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Utilities in Illinois say power is mostly restored, a day after strong storms raked the state.

Ameren Illinois reported about 32,000 customers were without power Thursday afternoon. By Friday morning, that number was down to about 900. Most of those outages were concentrated in Stewardson and Strasburg in central Illinois.

In northern Illinois, ComEd reports about 1,400 Cook County customers remained without electricity on Friday.
