FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - A Fort Collins man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting his fiancee in the head.

The judge said he was concerned because Raphael Ogaz-Montoya had a long history of domestic violence and sexual assault with his fiancee. He pleaded guilty to assault and domestic violence charges.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (https://tinyurl.com/pd77jqb), authorities said Ogaz-Montoya was drunk when he shot Sarah Harris as she sat on the couple’s bed. Harris recovered and told authorities the shooting was an accident.
