Woman, 74, found dead in north Georgia lake

ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Sheriff’s officials have identified a woman whose body was found floating in a lake at a north Georgia apartment complex.

Cherokee County sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker says an autopsy for 74-year-old Betty West of Acworth is scheduled for Saturday morning at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab.

Investigators say West’s body was found Thursday afternoon on water that is surrounded by the Waldan Pond apartment complex in Acworth. Baker says West lived at the complex.
