HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Schools across Connecticut are opening 90 minutes to two hours late because of icy road conditions.

Schools in Hartford, Manchester, New Britain, Waterbury, Litchfield and Groton are among those opening late Thursday after a storm dumped rain and freezing rain Wednesday.

The National Weather Service warned of potential black ice Wednesday morning as temperatures dipped below freezing overnight.

Bradley International Airport north of Hartford reports only two cancelled flights.

Metro-North says commuter rail service is running on normal schedules in Connecticut, except on the Waterbury Line where bus service was being provided because of mechanical problems.
