WEST WENDOVER, Nev. (AP) - It’s not exactly an art heist at the Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip, but a 29-year-old Nevada man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly was caught on surveillance tape stealing pictures from a hotel in West Wendover.

West Wendover police say they responded to a report of vandalism on Saturday at a local hotel-casino on the Utah line.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports (https://tinyurl.com/kdbhsxj) hotel security detained the suspect, Robert Valles of Elko.

Police then watched the security tape that reportedly showed Valles walking the hotel hallways, cutting three pictures from their frames and sticking them down his pants.

Police say he damaged at least four other pictures. The property later was recovered from Valles’ room. He’s been charged with suspicion of grand larceny.
