RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) - Ridgeland-based C Spire says neighborhoods in three Mississippi cities will wire residences for its high-speed fiber optic Internet.

C Spire is offering the 1 gigabit-per-second fiber optic service in nine Mississippi cities.

C Spire is requiring a certain percentage of residents in neighborhoods to sign up for the service before the company commits to delivering it.

The town of Quitman and one neighborhood each in Horn Lake and Starkville met the required sign-up goals. C Spire says Ridgeland also may soon be added.

Other cities that could receive the service include Batesville, Clinton, Corinth, Hattiesburg and McComb.
