OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - Olive Branch police are adding a complement of motorcycles to start a unit that will be easy to maneuver in congested city streets.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1gEzzIJ ) the Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday night to accept a quote from Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona Harley-Davidson for four motorcycles.

Chief Don Gammage said the motorcycles are expected to be in the hands of Olive Branch police later this month. They will be placed into operation about mid-March.

Gammage already has selected four officers to make up the motorcycle unit. They attended training in Gulfport recently.

Mayor Scott Phillips said the four bikes, costing about $12,000 apiece, are 2012 models.
